CPO Felix Richards launches project

On Thursday January 26th the Community Police Officer, Inspector Felix Richards officially launched his project called “Customer Friendly Upgrade”. This project is one that inspector Richards has been working on for a while in collaboration with external partners who have been very instrumental in the whole process and which consists of several fazes. Realizing the financial situation that is being confronted with Officer Richards took on this challenge and reached out to external partners and involved them in the project. In doing this new avenues of communication and working cooperation between them and the police force were opened. The first faze of this project of this project is to enhance and upgrade the main entrance of the Police Headquarters in Philipsburg and at the same time create a more customer friendly environment for anyone visiting the police station. Part of the project also includes the improvement of the privacy and security of the public and for the officers and any other person beyond the public waiting area.
A presentation of this project was given to the Police management team by officer Richards and Mr. Delano Richardson, managing director of Design House International. The presentation was quite impressive and with the approval of both the Minister of Justice the Honorable R. Boasman and the Police management the project has started.

Traffic accident- One victim suffers minor injuries.

The Police traffic Department is presently investigating a traffic accident which took place on Saturday January 28th at approximately 04.50 a.m. on the Airport road in the vicinity of McDonalds involving six vehicles. The driver of the vehicle with license place M-8869, who was driving with excessive speed, was the cause of the six car pile-up and severe damage to the other vehicles, some which were parked on the side of the road. The passenger of this vehicle complained of minor pain on the left side of his body. The victim was treated by the paramedics and was released shortly after. (See pic attached).

Police releases amount collected in outstanding fines and conditional dismissals.

In 2015 the Police Force collected a total 15.000, – guilders for outstanding fines and conditional dismissals.
In 2016 the Police Force collected a total of 118.343,53 guilders for out standing fines and conditional dismissals.
Thus far for the month of January 2017 a total of 5.750, – guilders for outstanding fines and 2.000,- for conditional dismissals have been collected.
The Police is urging anyone who may have an outstanding fine(s) to have it paid for as soon as possible, to avoid any unnecessary inconvenience during the many traffic that are planned to take place.
