De Kustwacht Caribisch Gebied ontving vanochtend een melding op Aruba dat tussen Boca Prins en Dos Playa twee Spaans sprekende personen waren gesignaleerd. Één was licht gewond en de andere lag tussen de rotsen. Eenheden van de Kustwacht, Brandweer, Ambulance en de Politie van San Nicolas rukten gelijk uit. Ter plekke aangekomen, troffen ze beide mannen aan. In een gezamenlijke inspanning van de aanwezige diensten, kon de man die tussen de rotsen lag uit zijn benarde situatie worden bevrijd. Hij was zwaar gewond. Het was duidelijk dat het ongedocumenteerde Venezolaanse migranten waren die via de noordkust Aruba probeerden te bereiken. Beide personen zijn met behulp van de kustwachthelikopter naar de luchthaven vervoerd alwaar ze door een ambulance werden opgewacht om naar het ziekenhuis te vervoeren. Bij nader onderzoek van de kustwacht tussen de rotsen werd een boei aangetroffen, een tas met verdovende middelen en ook drie vuurwapens. Op basis daarvan heeft Politie beide personen aangehouden. De drugs en de vuurwapens zijn in beslag genomen en overgedragen aan de Unit Georganiseerde Criminaliteit (UGC) die de zaak in onderzoek heeft.
 
Later op de dag werd in de buurt ook een levenloos lichaam van een man aangetroffen. Het stoffelijk overschot is in beslag genomen. Nader onderzoek moet uitwijzen of dit overschot verband heeft met de eerdere aanlanding.

The Dutch Caribbean Coastguard in Aruba received a notification this morning that there were two Spanish speaking men seen in the area between Boca Prins and Dos Playa. One of them was slightly injured and the other one was stuck between some rocks. Assets from the Coastguard, San Nicolas Police, Ambulance and Fire department were deployed. Upon arrival to abovementioned location, both men were found. In a joint effort of the present services, they were able to free the man stuck between the rocks from his terrible situation. He was badly injured. It was clear that they were undocumented Venezuelan migrants who attempted to reach Aruba through the north coast. Both men were transferred to the airport with the Coastguard helicopter where an ambulance was waiting to transport them to the hospital. Upon further investigation of the Coastguard between the rocks, a buoy was found, a bag with narcotics and also three firearms. Based on this, both men were detained by the Police. De narcotics and firearms were confiscated and handed over the Unit Organized Crime (UGC) that is investigating the case.
 
Later today, a lifeless body was found in the same area. The body was confiscated. Further investigation must determine if the cases are related.
