A little before 8 P.M. on Saturday, July 13, 2024, the Meteorological Department Curaçao received a few calls and messages related to a phenomenon in the sky, a ball of light that illuminated the sky and then disappeared. Several people could take note of it.
Meteo has done an investigation and found out that it is the return of SpaceX satellites these people have seen. The rocket, “Falcon 9” suffered a defect after its launch which caused it to fail to carry the satellites into the orbit they needed to reach, in order to stay in space. As a consequence, the force of the Earth’s gravity will attract the satellites and gradually they will circle around the Earth and then enter back into our atmosphere while burning and disintegrating.
