Geen strafrechtelijk onderzoek naar hoofd Landrecherche Op 19 juni 2016 deed de heer L.C.J. Lewis aangifte tegen het hoofd van de Landsrecherche Sint Maarten de heer A. Doran. Lewis beschuldigde Doran van valsheid in geschrift, meineed en smaad. Onder verantwoordelijkheid van de Procureur-General mr. A.R.E. Schram heeft de Landsrecherche Curaçao een uitgebreid feitenonderzoek uitgevoerd naar deze beschuldigingen. Binnen dit onderzoek zijn in totaal elf personen gehoord, waaronder diverse personen binnen de Landsrecherche. Daarnaast zijn schriftelijke stukken toegevoegd aan het dossier. Uit het onderzoek is komen vast te staan, dat de beschuldigingen zoals geuit door Lewis jegens Doran onterecht zijn en feitelijke grondslag missen. Er is sprake van een snel geëscaleerd arbeidsconflict tussen Lewis en zijn werkgever. Binnen het disciplinaire traject dat heeft geleid tot de op nonactiefstelling van Lewis zijn de juiste procedures gevolgd. De daarin door Doran opgemaakte rapportages zijn inhoudelijk niet onjuist en kunnen worden onderbouwd met bewijsmiddelen of getuigenverklaringen. De rapportages zijn ook niet anders dan noodzakelijk verspreid. In het onderzoek is niemand als verdachte aangemerkt. Er is ook geen sprake van een verdenking van valsheid in geschrift, meineed, smaad of enig ander strafbaar feit gepleegd door Doran. Er zal geen strafrechtelijk onderzoek volgen en de zaak is hiermee beëindigd. No criminal investigation against the head of the National Detectives Agency On June 19, 2016 L.C.J. Lewis filed a complaint against the head of the National Detectives Agency of St. Maarten, A. Doran. Lewis accused Doran of forgery, perjury and defamation. There was a rapidly escalated labor dispute between Lewis and his employer. Within the disciplinary process that led to the suspension of Lewis, the proper procedures had been followed. The reports written by Doran in this regard were not incorrect and can be substantiated by evidence or statements made by witnesses. Also the reports were not distributed differently than necessary. No one has been considered a suspect in the investigation. There is also no suspicion of forgery, perjury, slander or any other offense committed by Doran.
