COMANDO DO GRUPAMENTO DE PATRULHA NAVAL DO NORTE
The Brazilian Navy is conducting, during April 08th to May 20th, in the maritime area between the territorial seas of Brazil, French Guyana, Suriname, Guyana, Trinidad and Tobago, Curaçao and Granada, the Operation CARIBEX 2019, visiting the ports of Paramaribo-SUR, Port of Spain-TRI, Willemstad-CUR, Saint George’s-GRN, Georgetown-GUY and Caiena-FGU.
During the 42 days of operation, in addition to the interchange with the Navies and to seal the relationship between all those Nations, there are been conducting several military exercises, like tactical maneuvers between the ships, fire combat exercises, shoot exercises, replenishment and boarding exercises, in order to improve the knowledge of the ships’ crews.
The Task Group, which counts with 128 militaries, is under the command of the Commanding Officer of The North Patrol Group of Brazil, the Captain Robledo de Lemos Costa e Sá, and is formed by the following patrol ships from the 4th Naval District Command and the 3rd Naval District Command: Patrol Ship “Bracuí” (P-60), Patrol Ship “Guaíba” (P-41) and Patrol Ship “Guanabara” (P-48).
In Curaçao, the ships are going to be moored in the West Wharf, Willemstad, from April 25th to April 28th.
