POLICE PRESS RELEASE

Suspect in Cost Pro robbery arrested.
On Wednesday 22nd May the KPSM police arrested one suspect who was involved in the armed robbery of Cost Pro supermarket.
Based on a lead received from our French counter parts which provided a big break in the case; the detectives of the armed robbery unit were able to conducted a home search and locate a weapon in the residence of suspect M.J.M (29). The suspect was arrested and brought in to the Philipsburg Police Station for further questioning.
The robbery took place on the 22nd of April at approximately 01.50 p.m. at Cost Pro in Madame Estate. Four men arrived at the supermarket, three of which armed with guns stormed into the establishment while the drive waited in the getaway vehicle. In the supermarket the three armed men stole an undisclosed amount of cash from the establishment along with several cellular telephones belonging to clients who were in the supermarket at the time of the robbery. After committing this act the robbers fled the scene in an awaiting vehicle. This investigation is currently still ongoing.

Robbery at Mr.K Supermarket
The investigating officers of KPSM are currently busy investigating a robbery which took place yesterday, 23rd May, at approximately 11:30 am at Mr.K supermarket. A man dressed in a black hooded sweat shirt covering his head entered the supermarket armed with a weapon to rob the shop. The suspect then fled on foot in the vicinity of the Guana Bay area.
Based on information received a home search was conducted at a home in the Guana Bay area. The information indicated that the suspect may have been in the home; at which point necessary force was required to open the door to the home. The owner of the home was contacted and came to the station; an agreement was made to have the damages to the door sorted out. This investigation is currently still ongoing.
