Esaki ta inkluí entre otro mantené ISC su Campus liber di uzo di plèstik den tur forma, organisá dia pa muchanan di ménos rekurso pa haña un eksperensia dor di bin “shop” na ISC, bishitá kasnan di grandi, rekoudá kuminda pa bestia, buska mobilario pa diferente skol i hopi mas.

E evento akí ta konosí komo ‘GIN Shopping Experience’ òf mas bien Clothing Day.

A transformá e gymzaal na ISC den un pakus grandi kaminda alrededor di 700 mucha, for di diferente fundashon, a haña e invitashon pa pasa un dia spesial pa nan “shop” i haña e eksperensha akí.

E aña akí tambe, esaki tabata un éksito kompleto. E muchanan a disfrutá di e ambiente, buskando paña, ko’i hunga i algun otro asesorio di nan mes eskoho.

 

Nos studiantenan di GIN a trese un brio di goso den bida di e muchanan akí. Preparashonnan a start algun siman pasá kaminda e miembronan mes a kolekta e pañanan, surti nan na sais, set-up i transformá e gym pa hasi e eksperensia, unu plasentero pa e muchanan ku a bin “shop”.

Vicky Trinidad, pa a yuda nos ku e organisashon i ku ta sostené nos en grande ku e organisashon i kordinashon di e evento akí. E evenementu akí ta un non-profit event, kual nos ta hasi ku e propósito pa yuda esnan den nesesidat i duna bèk na nos komunidat.

Het Global Issues Network (GIN) aan de International School of Curaçao (ISC) maakt deel uit van een wereldwijd netwerk van studentenorganisaties met hetzelfde doel: onze lokale gemeenschappen helpen. Elk jaar organiseren onze ISC GIN-studenten verschillende op dienstverlening gebaseerde activiteiten. In de loop der jaren hebben deze activiteiten onder meer bestaan uit het handhaven van een beleid zonder plastic op de schoolcampus, het organiseren van een winkelervaring voor kinderen uit lokale tehuizen, bezoeken aan bejaardentehuizen en weeshuizen, het organiseren van voedselinzamelingen voor dieren, fondsenwerving om meubels te kunnen bieden aan enkele lokale scholen, en nog veel meer.

 

Op zaterdag 2 maart 2024 hielden GIN-studenten aan de International School of Curaçao hun 10e jaarlijkse kledinginzameling, waarbij ze kinderen uit verschillende lokale stichtingen van onze gemeenschap een winkelervaring boden. Het evenement staat bekend als de ‘GIN Shopping Experience’. De sporthal van ISC werd omgetoverd tot een winkel; ongeveer 700 kinderen uit onze lokale gemeenschap werden uitgenodigd in de kledingwinkel en kregen de kans om een echte winkelervaring te beleven. Het was een groot succes. De kinderen genoten volop van de ervaring om kleding, speelgoed en accessoires naar eigen keuze en smaak helemaal gratis uit te kiezen. Ze kregen ook een snack en een drankje om de winkelervaring compleet te maken.

 

Onze GIN-studenten hebben een sprankje vreugde in het leven van deze kinderen gebracht. Ze begonnen enkele weken van tevoren met de voorbereidingen voor dit evenement. Ze verzamelden, sorteerden en richtten de gymzaal in om deze ervaring voor deze kinderen mogelijk te maken. GIN-studenten – we zijn erg trots op wat jullie doen.

 

We willen graag onze genereuze ISC-gemeenschap en mevrouw Kavita Chugani bedanken voor het begeleiden van de studenten en iedereen die zo gul heeft bijgedragen aan deze zaak. In het bijzonder willen we Curaçao Cares/CURA DOET bedanken, in de persoon van mevrouw Vicky Trinidad, voor de ondersteuning bij de coördinatie van het evenement van dit jaar. Dit is een non-profit evenement dat we organiseren met het enige doel om degenen in nood te helpen en iets terug te geven aan onze gemeenschap.

Global Issues Network (GIN) at the International School of Curacao is a part of a larger network

of student organizations throughout the world with the same goal; to help our local

communities. Every year our ISC GIN students organize different service-based activities. Over

the years, some of these activities have included – maintaining a no-plastic policy in the school

campus, organizing a shopping experience for the children from local homes, visiting elderly

homes and orphanages, organizing animal food drives, fundraising to help provide furniture for

a few local schools, and many more.

 

On Saturday March 2^nd 2024, GIN students at the International School of Curacao held their 10^th annual clothing drive, where they provided a shopping experience to children from

different local foundations of our community. The event is known as the ‘GIN Shopping

Experience’. The ISC gymnasium was transformed into a store; around 700 children from our

local community were invited to the clothing store and given an opportunity to have a real

shopping experience. It was a great success. The children thoroughly enjoyed the experience of

picking clothing, toys and accessories of their own choice and liking totally free

of cost. They were also given a snack and a drink to complete the experience of shopping.

 

Our GIN students added a sparkle of joy into the lives of these children. They started preparing

for this event a few weeks in advance. They collected, sorted and set up the gym to make this

experience a reality for these children. GIN students – we are very proud of what you do.

 

We would like to thank our generous ISC community and Mrs. Kavita Chugani for guiding the students and everyone who has so generously contributed to this cause. Particularly we would like to thank Curacao Cares/ CURA DOET, in the person of Mrs. Vicky Trinidad for the support in coordination of this year’s event. This is a non-profit event, which we host for the sole purpose of aiding those in need and giving back to our community.
