Minister for poverty policy, Carola Schouten, arrived here this evening for a working visit. The minister was met at FDR Airport by the island governor, Alida Francis, her first such function since being sworn in two weeks ago. The minister gets down to work immediately, holding a dinner meeting with the executive council this evening. Tomorrow, she will hold talks with government officials on childcare and the minimum wage. She will also visit daycare centres, workplaces, and volunteer groups to address the quality of childcare, volunteerism, employment opportunities, and youth social issues. The minister and her delegation leave here on Friday.
