In February 2025, a public notice was issued inviting the community to take part in a contest to help name the new search and rescue boat. The competition included specific criteria for the vessel’s name, including a preference for a female name.
In June 2025, the search and rescue vessel was officially named Nora, in honour of the late Mrs. Leonara Sneek-Gibbs, who served the community. Several people submitted the name, and Mrs. Claudette Blair was randomly selected as the winner.
