Sint Maarten Police: Immigration officer suspended

POLICE PRESS RELEASE

Immigration officer suspended

The Chief of the Sint Maarten Police Force has called for an internal criminal investigation into a complaint received regarding an officer of the Immigration division.

Immigration officer D.W. has been placed on temporary suspension, until further notice, during the ongoing investigation into the complaint.

The outcome of the internal investigation will be handed over to the public prosecutor, who will determine whether or not an independent follow up investigation by the National Detectives is necessary. The internal investigation is still ongoing at this time.
