Investigation into ill-treatment on L.B.Scott road on September 4th 2019
The detective department concluded their investigation into the incident that took place on the September 4th 2019 on the L.B Scott road. During this incident a young man on a scooter was slapped by another individual after a short discussion. The police who was at the scene restrained the suspect with the initials M.R and him brought over to the police station in Philipsburg for questioning. Later that same day the victim appeared at the police station and made an official complaint of ill-treatment. After being heard by the personnel of the detective department the suspect what given a fine by the prosecutor office and released.
Student arrested with knives
The police department of St.Maarten is urging, cooperation from parents and guardian concerning the serious ongoing situations with their minor children that’s taking place in an around the secondary school in St. Peters and South Reward area. On Wednesday September 11th 2019 about 12.00 pm, the Philipsburg patrol was sent to one of the secondary schools in South Reward where a student, supposedly was in possession of a dangerous type of knife. At the scene the patrol encountered a male student with a curved knife in his position, the student was arrested and the knife confiscated. During a routine check on the clothing of the suspect another the knife was found, this weapon was also confiscate for further investigation. He was brought to the police station and handed over to the juvenile department.
