Celebration World Tourism Day
Kralendijk (September 26th, 2019) – Today September 27th, the tourism industry celebrates World Tourism day with the theme ‘Tourism and Jobs: A better future for all!’ which was chosen by the World Tourism Organization (UNTWO).
This is a day to reflect on the continuous progress of Bonaire’s Tourism Industry. This industry has an enormous impact on our daily life in view that it is so broad; from construction developments to our commitment to preserve and conserve our nature, culture and historical resources. The different job opportunities both directly and indirectly.
Bonaire is a small island which depends on tourism, furthermore tourism is one of the most important pillars in Bonaire’s economy. This year we decided to specially make the kids aware, by teaching them what tourism means, the importance of tourism for our island, and show them all the work opportunities in this sector. TCB came up with the project to involve the kids which were the main focus this year by organizing the drawing competition that was for kids in elementary school between groups 3 and 8. The wish for TCB was to motivate the kids to use their creativity in creating a drawing with the theme Bonaire’s Tourism . Yesterday the winners were picked and Saturday the prizes will be handed out to the winners during the next Taste of Bonaire which will have as theme Tourism.
TCB would like to congratulate our tourism partners, every person working in this sector, and that are connected to this sector one way or the other, on this year’s World Tourism Day, for their continuous efforts dedication and devotion to our industry.
Viering Wereldtoerismedag
Kralendijk (26 september 2019) – Vandaag 27 september viert de toeristische sector de Wereldtoerismedag met het thema ‘Tourism and Jobs: A better future for all!’ die werd gekozen door de World Tourism Organisation (UNTWO).
Dit is een dag om na te denken over de voortdurende vooruitgang van de toeristenindustrie van Bonaire. Deze industrie heeft een enorme impact op ons dagelijks leven omdat het zo breed is; van bouwontwikkelingen tot ons engagement om onze natuur, cultuur en historische bronnen te behouden. De verschillende werkmogelijkheden zowel direct als indirect.
Bonaire is een klein eiland dat afhankelijk is van toerisme, bovendien is toerisme een van de belangrijkste pijlers in de economie van Bonaire. Dit jaar hebben we besloten om de kinderen speciaal bewust te maken, door hen te leren wat toerisme betekent, het belang van toerisme voor ons eiland, en hen alle werkmogelijkheden in deze sector te laten zien. TCB kwam met het project om de kinderen te betrekken, die dit jaar de belangrijkste focus waren door de tekenwedstrijd te organiseren die voor kinderen op de basisschool tussen groep 3 en 8 was. De wens voor TCB was om de kinderen te motiveren om hun creativiteit te gebruiken bij het maken van een tekening met het thema Bonaire’s Toerisme. Gisteren werden de winnaars gekozen en zaterdag worden de prijzen uitgedeeld aan de winnaars tijdens de volgende Taste of Bonaire met als thema Toerisme.
TCB feliciteert onze toeristische partners, iedereen die in deze sector werkt en die op de een of andere manier met deze sector is verbonden, op de Wereldtoerismedag dit jaar, voor hun voortdurende inzet en toewijding aan onze industrie.
