USS TORNADO Crew Participates in Community Project with Fundashon Venex
United States Coast Guard Coastal Patrol Boat USS TORNADO (PC-14) visited Curacao
October 3-5.
Last Saturday, crew members participated in a community relations project for, and together
with, non-profit foundation Fundashon Venex. With the crew provided paint and supplies, they
refurbished a building and conducted landscaping of the property.
Venex plans to open a Center for Education and Integration for children of Spanish-speaking
parents focused on helping children of displaced Venezuelans with an after-school program.
“It was an honor to have the opportunity to participate in this event and help out the
Venezuelan community. I would like to thank the people of Curacao for their warm hospitality
and for sharing their beautiful island with us. Our special thanks go out to Fundashon Venex
and the U.S. Consulate General that helped organize this project and the U.S. Fourth Fleet
that funded this endeavor,” Lieutenant Commander Brian Stueber said.
