Attorneys General meet for joint consultation
WILLEMSTAD, Curaçao (24 October 2023) – The joint consultation of the Attorneys General of the Kingdom KPG was held in Curaçao on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at the Office of the Attorney General of Curaçao, of Sint Maarten, of Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and Saba.
In attendance were Attorneys General Ton Maan (Curaçao, Sint Maarten, Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and Saba), Amalin Flanegin (Aruba), and a member of the Board of Attorneys General in the Netherlands Guus Schram. The attorneys general consult with each other at least twice a year via a joint consultation.
Besides preparing the Judicial Four-Party Consultation JVO, the KPG also deals with a number of its own topics resulting from the KPG Covenant 2018. These subjects concern the coordination of investigation and prosecution in cross-border and other cases, legal aid, assistance as well as the developments within the respective Prosecutors’ Offices, the mutual cooperation and development thereof, and other subjects in the field of operational management.
This trip to the Caribbean part of the Kingdom marks Schram’s first in his current position. He will also visit Bonaire and Aruba where he will meet with (justice) officials. He was also scheduled to visit Sint Maarten, but this was cancelled due to Hurricane Tammy.
Schram served as PG of Curaçao, of Sint Maarten, of Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and Saba February 2014 to September 2017.
Flanegin assumed the post of PG in Aruba as of September 2023.

Procureurs-generaal bijeen voor gezamenlijk overleg
WILLEMSTAD, Curaçao (24 oktober 2023) – Het gezamenlijk overleg van de procureurs-generaal van het Koninkrijk (KPG) werd op dinsdag 24 oktober 2023 gehouden in Curaçao, bij het kantoor van de Procureur-Generaal van Curaçao, van Sint Maarten, van Bonaire, Sint Eustatius en Saba.
Aanwezig waren PG Ton Maan (Curaçao, Sint Maarten, Bonaire, Sint Eustatius en Saba), PG Amalin Flanegin (Aruba), en lid van het College van procureurs-generaal in Nederland PG Guus Schram. De procureurs-generaal overleggen minimaal twee keer per jaar met elkaar via een gezamenlijk overleg.
Naast de voorbereiding van het Justitieel Vierpartijen Overleg JVO houdt de KPG zich ook bezig met een aantal eigen onderwerpen die zijn opgenomen in het KPG Convenant 2018. Deze onderwerpen betreffen de coördinatie van opsporing en vervolging in (grensoverschrijdende) zaken, rechtsbijstand, bijstand alsmede de ontwikkelingen binnen de respectievelijke parketten, de onderlinge samenwerking en ontwikkeling daarvan en andere onderwerpen op het gebied van bedrijfsvoering.
Deze reis naar de Caribische deel van het Koninkrijk is voor Schram de eerste in zijn huidige functie. Hij zal ook Bonaire en Aruba bezoeken waar hij (justitiële) autoriteiten zal ontmoeten. De bedoeling was om ook Sint Maarten te bezoeken, maar dat ging niet door vanwege orkaan Tammy.
Schram was van februari 2014 tot september 2017 PG van Curaçao, Sint Maarten, Bonaire, Sint Eustatius en Saba.
Vanaf september 2023, is Flanegin aangetreden als PG van Aruba.
