Racing Club Aruba (RCA), SV Victory Boys Curaçao & SV Atlétiko Flamingo Bonaire Announces Strategic Collaboration with US Soccer Coaching Education of Georgia State
Aruba – August 30, 2024,
Following the signing of the MOU between RCA in Aruba, SV Victory Boys in Curaçao and SV Atlético Flamingo of Bonaire, the clubs are honored to announce the next step in their alliance. Creating pathways has always been at the heart of the alliance, and as such it is with great pride that the three clubs announce a groundbreaking collaboration with US Soccer Coaching Education of Georgia State. As part of this collaboration, the first session of the Grassroots & D License Course will be held from September 23rd until September 27th 2024 in Aruba. Two US Soccer Coaching Education instructors will travel to Aruba to lead the program. This course will be exclusively be available to coaches from RCA, Victory Boys, and SV. Flamingo.
The US Soccer Licenses are recognized by Concacaf, marking a significant step forward for the development of soccer coaching in the ABC islands.Furthermore, as part of the US Soccer Coaching family, the coaches will have access to US Soccer’s Learning Center. The course, which typically spans six months, has been specially adapted for the ABC islands, allowing 26 coaches to complete it within a shorter timeframe.
For the first time, a club outside of the US is organizing a US Soccer D License course, marking a historic milestone in the region’s football development and could mark a milestone between US Soccer and the Caribbean region. Although this course is currently exclusive to the coaches of RCA, Victory Boys, and SV Flamingo, the clubs are working on expanding access to other clubs on the island in the future. This will allow coaching on all three islands to prosper, for all clubs and as a whole will help take football to a higher level on Aruba, Bonaire and Curaçao.
The collaboration with US Soccer Education also provides the clubs with two annual spots in the highly sought-after C License Course, which has only 100 slots available in the US per session. This opportunity is a significant step for those aspiring to become professional coaches, offering a pathway to further develop their coaching skills.
In addition to the coaching courses, the three clubs are also planning a College Clinic at the beginning of 2025. More information on this will follow in due time.
Jeff Lopez, President of RCA, expressed his pride in this achievement, stating, “This collaboration will open doors for much more. It not only strengthens our coaching infrastructure but also creates new opportunities for our youth to achieve their dreams on our islands.”
