As part of the island’s Nature and Environmental Policy Plan (NEPP), the Statia Government is supporting a new conservation project in The Quill National Park. Led by STENAPA, the initiative involves constructing protective fencing to help restore damaged forest ecosystems.
The fencing will reduce the impact of free-roaming animals and allow native plants and wildlife to thrive. Benefits include stronger forest systems, better erosion control, increased biodiversity, and long-term climate resilience.
This project is one of several actions under the NEPP, a strategic plan to safeguard St. Eustatius’ natural environment and build a more sustainable future. Funding is provided by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Food Security and Nature.
