WILLEMSTAD – April 9, 2025 – The Curaçao Tourist Board is pleased to report a strong start of the year, with continued growth in stayover arrivals during the high season. March saw a significant 14% increase in arrivals compared to the same month in 2024, with 8,925 more stayover visitors. This strong performance reflects sustained demand during the peak season, with another month reporting over seventy thousand stayover visitors.
All regions showed positive performance in March. Notably, arrivals from the Caribbean increased by 33%. South America, North America and Europe recorded a 22%, 17%, and 5% growth respectively. In absolute numbers, North America and Europe remain the largest source markets. It is the first time in history, Curaçao welcomed more visitors from North America than from Europe, with 28,015 and 26,584 arrivals respectively. Data from Immigration Cards indicates that visitors stayed an average of 7.9 nights on the island in March.

The Netherlands: Curaçao welcomed 22,485 visitors from the Netherlands, a 17% increase compared to 19,293 arrivals in March 2024. Most Dutch visitors (53%) chose non-resort accommodations, while 47% stayed at resorts. On average, Dutch visitors stayed for 11.4 nights during their visit. Twenty-one percent of the visitors reside in South Holland and 18% in North Holland.
United States of America: The USA continues to be a vital market for Curaçao, showing a 17% growth in arrivals, totaling 22,002 visitors in March 2025, compared to 18,740 in the same month last year. It is the first time in history Curaçao recorded over twenty thousand visitors out of the United States of America. Most American visitors (67%) chose resort hotels, while 33% selected other types of accommodations. On average, U.S. visitors stayed for 5.8 nights, with the largest number residing from New York (14%), Florida (8%), and North Carolina (5%).
Canada: Visitor numbers from Canada surged by 17% in March 2025, totaling 6,013 arrivals compared to 5,142 in March 2024. Canadian visitors stayed an average of 7.9 nights, with 59% choosing to stay in resort hotels. Most Canadians who visited Curaçao in March live in Ontario (53%) and Quebec (28%).

Curaçao’s tourism sector showed strong performance in the first quarter of 2025, supported by strategic efforts to maintain visibility in key markets. The island’s focus on market diversification is reflected in the balanced performance of major airlines, emphasizing the value of all partners. From January to March, Curaçao welcomed 535,626 visitors, including 215,366 stayover arrivals, 12,011 day-trippers, and 308,249 cruise passengers.
