Story Time – WBW2025 Celebration
As part of our World Breastfeeding Week 2025 activities, CPS was delighted to attend Story Time hosted by the White and Yellow Cross Foundation, in collaboration with the Sint Maarten Library.
This special evening took place on Friday August 8, 2025 at the White and Yellow Cross Care foundation Chapel. Children came out with their parents to enjoy a heartwarming reading session, and the atmosphere was filled with excitement and smiles.
The dynamic readers from the Sint Maarten library, Ms. Melackia Spencer and Ms. Mariland Powell, brought the stories to life with enthusiasm and passion keeping the children captivated from start to finish! Their passion showed that literacy and storytelling are powerful tools to inspire young minds, even as we raise awareness about breastfeeding and the support moms need on their journey.
This event was a beautiful reminder that nurturing a child’s mind and body go hand in hand reading strengthens imagination, and breastfeeding nourishes both health and bonding.
Don’t forget! The Sint Maarten Library is open Monday to Friday, upstairs at the Adolphus Richardson Building. You can also visit their two satellite locations in Belvedere and Cay Hill. Take your kids, explore the shelves, and open the door to a world of reading!
