On Wednesday, April 8, 2026, the Members of the Committee of Justice convened in Committee meeting no. 03 with the Prime Minister and Minister of General Affairs, Dr. L.F.E. Mercelina, and the Minister of Justice, Ms. N.M. Tackling. The Committee discussed the current crime situation affecting youth and communities, youth intervention options—including the possible reintroduction of military training in Curaçao—and efforts to strengthen prevention and community support.
After agreeing to merge the original three agenda points into one agenda point, the Prime Minister and the Minister of Justice gave a presentation addressing the topics at hand Following the presentation, Committee Members were given the opportunity to pose questions. The Ministers provided responses to the questions posed directly, and the meeting was subsequently closed.
