Police action during Bacchanal Friday and J’ouvert Morning Parade on St. Eustatius

During Bacchanal Friday, police intervened in an altercation involving several individuals outside Carnival Village on Concordia Road, where a knife was confiscated.

Later at the same location, officers arrested a 48-year-old man with the initials D.R.T.F. for failing to comply with a police order, attempted manslaughter, violating the Weapons Act, driving under the influence of alcohol, and public drunkenness. A vehicle involved in the incident was also seized.

The J’ouvert Morning Parade started on time at 4:00 AM and ended at 6:30 AM. The event proceeded smoothly, with no further incidents reported.

The main Carnival weekend continue this afternoon with the First Day Parade, which starts at 4:00 PM.
