InselAir’s position reductions legal process
Willemstad – Curacao. InselAir has come under scrutiny and criticism from various communications groups with regards to its recent decision to reduce the number of position holders with the airline. InselAir is very familiar with the regulations and the laws of Curacao as it pertains to the actions to be taken in the event of a reduction of positions within the airline. Contrary to the various negative positions and references presented in several media, InselAir reconfirms its full compliance with the procedures prescribed and of the authorized calendar. The names of the personnel concerned was tabled with the authorities within the time frame allowed by the law.

InselAir has confirmed to all the personnel affected that it will honor all financial obligations mandated by the laws of Curacao and were provided with a provisory financial statement. The personnel were also invited to contact InselAir for any further information that they may require.

When informed of their redundancy, every personnel were given the reasons as to why the position was redundant and informed that the principle of “last in, first out” was applied and that the entire process, which is out of the control of InselAIr, could take up to 12 weeks. The process is totally dependent on the time required by SOAW to execute the required procedures.

InselAir is recentelijk regelmatig, in de media, onderwerp geweest van kritieke geluiden vanuit verschillende groepen met betrekking tot het recente besluit om het aantal werknemers te verminderen. InselAir is op de hoogte van de geldende regels en wetten van Curaçao als het gaat om vermindering van posities. In tegenstelling tot verschillende negatieve standpunten en verwijzingen in de media, bevestigt InselAir nogmaals dat zij de voorgeschreven procedures volledig naleeft en zich houdt aan de voorgeschreven ‘tijdsspanne’ die hiermee gepaard gaat. De namen van de betrokken personeelsleden zijn ingediend bij de autoriteiten binnen de door de wet vastgestelde periode.
 
InselAir heeft het betrokken personeel bevestigd dat het zich houdt aan alle financiële verplichtingen die door de wetten van Curacao zijn voorgeschreven en heeft iedereen voorzien van een voorlopig financieel overzicht. Daarnaast is het personeel uitgenodigd om contact met InselAir op te nemen voor verdere informatie indien zij die nodig hebben.
 
Op het moment dat de werknemers op de hoogte werden gebracht van hun ontslag, werd iedereen geinformeerd over de reden waarom de positie overbodig was geworden en werd iedereen geinformeerd dat het principe van “last in, first out” werd toegepast. Tevens werd medegedeeld dat het hele proces, wat niet in InselAir’s handen is, tot 12 weken zou kunnen duren. Het proces is volledig afhankelijk van de tijd die SOAW nodig heeft om de vereiste procedures uit te kunnen voeren.
