Watches/warnings: A Tropical Storm Watch is in effect for Aruba.

Effect on local conditions

Winds: During the island pass between 21-6/04:00 and 15:00 UTC, an average wind of 20 – 25 kt with gusts up to 40 kt is possible… Tuesday night (local time) the wind will back to east- northeast and increase to strong (22 to 27 knots, Bft 6), possibly near gale (28 to 33 knots, Bft 7). During Wednesday morning the wind will veer to southeast, also strong or near gale (6-7 Bft). There is a risk for a gale force 8 Bft. During showers the wind can become variable. Wind gusts might be up to 40 kt. Keep in mind errors for track and intensity mentioned in NHC advisory.

Seas: 5 to 10 feet range expected from 21-06 / 03:00 UTC until 21-6 / 18:00 UTC on the northern coastal area and 2 to 4 feet on the southern coastal area.

Rainfall: Amounts of around 10 to 25 mm are possibly, locally more during Tuesday evening to Wednesday morning.

Local authorities and residents of Aruba are advised to continue monitoring the further progress of this weather system and to take all necessary measures to safeguard life and property.
