The Joint Rescue and Coordinaton Center (JRCC) of the Dutch Caribbean Coast Guard received a notification from the Fort the France in Martinique.

The Joint Rescue and Coordinaton Center (JRCC) of the Dutch Caribbean Coast Guard received a notification from the Fort the France in Martinique. Two French youngsters went missing, the local boy and girl went on a jetski and did not return home. They took a jetski near a hotel at midnight and went joyriding. The Fort the France noticed the Dutch Caribbean Coast Guard that they already executed a search and rescue (SAR) on the French side without any result.

Later during the morning the authorities, who combined forces in the case, found two bodies on the French side during a search with the French Coast Guard helicopter. The bodies were found near rocks of the coast between Pointe Noire and Cupecoy Bay. Their was no sign of the jetski in the area. The JRCC dispatched a Metal Shark patrol to search the Dutch side for the jetski. When the damaged jetski was detected is was towed to the Dutch Caribbean Coast Guard substation. The two bodies were identified as the two missing youngsters. The police will execute further investigation in this case.

The Dutch Caribbean Coast Guard wishes the family of the deceased strength with their loss and may they rest in peace.
