KPSM says farewell to Commander Sebastien Manzoni

On Tuesday July 30th the Minister of Justice the Honorable Cornelius DeWeever in the presence of the Police Chief Carl John and the Management-team said farewell Sebastien Manzoni Commander of the Gendarmes on the French Side of the island. Commander Manzoni who will be leaving the island in early August has been working on Saint Martin since 2015 and since that time has formed a very close working relationship with the authorities on the Dutch Side. The working cooperation between the two sides since 2015 has seen a major improvement.

As a token of appreciation a luncheon was organized for Commander Manzoni at “Sheers” restaurant located on Front Street. Also a plaque was presented to Manzoni honoring him for the work he has done and cooperation he has given over this four year period. Minister DeWeever and Chief John thanked Manzoni for his contribution to the island and wished much success in the future. (See pic attached)

KPSM receives work-visit from Progress-committee

On Tuesday July 30th the Police Chief Carl John and Management team received a scheduled work- visit from the Progress Committee. During this visit Chief John gave the committee an extensive and overall presentation of the current situation and the progress KPSM has been making. The committee was quite happy and impressed with the progress which has been made by KPSM and commended the Chief and management team for the good job they are doing. (See pic attached)

 

Creative Learning visit KPSM

On Thursday 1st August the KPSM welcomed 22 children, between the ages of 3-15, from the Creative Learning After school program to the station for a visit. 

The energetic group of students got a firsthand guided tour of the station by Community Police officer Helen Romeo. They were able to visit with the different departments and ask as many questions as their inquisitive minds could come up with. The students were able to visit and hear first hand descriptions from departments such as the detective, IT, communication, watch commander as well the new camera surveillance centre. 

At the end of the tour when CPO Romeo asked the kids who would like to became a officer in the future several hands shot up in the air with enthusiasm. The KPSM department would like to thank the Creative Learning After school programmed for the visit to the station and we look forward to several applications in the future from all the kids who will be grown up.
