Armed robberies on two restaurants 

The police force KPSM was kept busy over the weekend with two armed robberies that took place in Cole-Bay and sucker-garden. The first robbery took place on Friday October 4th 2019 approximately 08.10 pm on a Chinese restaurant on the union road.  According to the information gathers from the victims, two young men dresses all in black with hoodies on, came into the restaurant brandishing a firearm and robbed the cashier.  After the robbery the suspects disappeared in the dark behind restaurant.

 About 20 minutes later the police was call to next armed robbery that took place on the  on a restaurant in the Sucker-Garden road close to the crossing with Arch road. According to the information gathered , a young man dressed in complete black came in to the establishment armed with a handgun and rob the cashier of the cash. The robbers ran away in the direction of Key’s.  The Special Unit Robbery is busy with the investigation these two cases. 

Two men arrested for ill-treatment 

The police dispatched center received a call about a fight/Ill-treatment and destruction of property that was taking place on the  welfare road, in the area of the Tropicana casino with two men. 

 The police officers rushed to the scene and encountered a man who had been ill-treated with a broken bottle. According to the information gathered , two men of Latin decent fought over a lady friend who both of them was dating.  During the fight the victim with the initials C.M.P ill-treated L.J C-P with a broken bottle. The victim sustained deep gash on his neck. He was treated on the scene by the ambulance personnel and later brought over to the St.Maarten Medical Center.  The suspect who was still in the area was immediately arrested a brought over to the police station in Philipsburg and incarcerated pending further investigation. After being treated in the medical center, the victim was also arrested for damaging the vehicle of the other suspect.  L.J C-P is also being held at the police station pending further investigation 

Road closure 

 In connection with the celebration of Police Day 2019, the E.C.Richardson Street will be closed between Wednesday October 09, 2019 at 6 pm and October 10, 2109 at 6 pm. The management of KPSM apologizes for any inconvenience caused by the road closure.
