The 14th International Regatta, schedules for June 28th, 2024
The 14 International Regatta invites the public to come watch sails unfurl on the Oranjestad waterfront, next weekend, in 14 racing classes: Optimists, SailQube, F11, Beachcats, Sunfishes, Lasers, Yachts Racing, Yachts Live Aboard cruisers, Yachts Multihulls, Miniatuurboats (30-35-40 inch), Windsurfers and Kites.
You are invited for the Regatta’s Opening Event, at the Regatta Village, Naptali Henriquez Speeltuin Beach, Friday June 28th, 5:00pm – 9:00pm, for registration and networking. A cash bar will be available.
The Opening Ceremony of the regatta will take place at 7:00pm with sailors, supporters, sponsors, and partners in attendance.
On Saturday, June 29th, All Class Sailing Races will take place from 9:00am – 4:00pm followed by live music, 5pm -9pm, with HAERFEN POP ROCK & BLUES Band. Sailors, supporters, and the public, are invited.
On Sunday, June 30th, All Day, All Class Sailing Races will take place from 9:00am – 3:00pm followed by live music, 5pm to 9pm, with The ORIGINALZ Band. Sailors, supporters, and the public, are invited.
The regatta award ceremony will take place on Sunday, June 30th: Youth 5:30pm; Adults 6:30pm.
ARF, Aruba Regatta Foundation’s vision is to introduce more people to sailing and connect them more closely to nature and sustainable watersport experiences. The Regatta wishes to reach as many young people as possible and introduce them to the joy of sailing.
In 2023, seventy-five sailors, participated in more than forty races, during two action packed days and were awarded 27 trophies, especially designed for the Regatta, made from recycled plastic, and repurposed wood. For 2024, the Regatta aims at attracting more sailors, boats, and spectators to the Regatta Village, set up west of Surfside beach, beach side of the Naptali Henriquez playground.
