We chose to host the Recognition Event later in the year to allow time for thoughtful planning and meaningful execution. By doing so, we can give our team the full attention, appreciation, and care they truly deserve. This event is not just about awards—it’s about connection, gratitude, and celebrating those who make everything possible.

The Recognition Event took place in the presence of press, General Manager David Andrews, Resident Manager Nazira El Hage-Saab, and representatives of the Lionstone company, further underscoring the importance of this occasion within our industry and community.

At the core of this initiative is our guiding philosophy:

“Celebrate Every Moment.”
And our purpose:
“We care for people so they can be their best.”

These guiding principles are exactly why we’ve elevated this year’s Recognition Event to a larger scale—because recognition matters. It’s an essential part of building a culture where people feel seen, supported, and motivated to grow.

This year’s event featured a formal awards ceremony, heartfelt speeches, a celebration dinner, and a few surprises along the way.

Mrs. Astrid Hortencia’s tenure in the Maintenance department with Sunscape Curaçao was celebrated as well as Ingrid Gibbes’ s tenure in the Food and Beverage department. Both are currently enjoying their well-deserved pension.

Mr. Glenn Spencer was honored as well for his unwavering support and dedication to the Sunscape Curaçao team.

Most importantly, this Recognition event brought together our incredible teams across departments in a spirit of unity, pride, and shared achievement.

But we’re not stopping here. This is just the beginning. Our vision is to continue growing this event each year, creating even more meaningful moments to recognize the people who shape our guest experiences and build our legacy in the tourism industry.
