Sandals Foundation bezorgt cadeautjes en feestvreugde aan meer dan 1.390 kinderen tijdens de feestdagen
Willemstad/Curaçao, 23 december 2025 – Met toewijding en enthousiasme brachten vrijwilligers van de Sandals Foundation van Sandals Royal Curaçao de feestmagie tot leven. Meer dan 1.390 cadeaus vonden hun weg naar scholen, naschoolse programma’s en kinderinstellingen op Curaçao, wat zorgde voor onvergetelijke momenten en blije gezichten. Dagenlang werden de cadeaus met zorg ingepakt door vrijwilligers en gasten, voordat ze over het hele eiland werden bezorgd.
Het initiatief, dat plaatsvond van 8 tot en met 19 december, bestond uit inpakdagen gevolgd door Toy Drive bezoekjes en enkele evenementen voor kinderen in het oosten en het westen van het eiland, met spelletjes, snacks, ijsjes, koekjes, zang en natuurlijk cadeaus. De Sandals Foundation is bijzonder dankbaar voor de ondersteuning van transportbedrijf FBTT, dat gedurende de speelgoedactie door middel van transport ondersteuning gaf. Op de eerste dag vervoerde FBTT honderden kinderen naar het evenement in het oosten en tijdens de overige dagen ondersteunde FBTT eveneens bij het transport naar verschillende locaties waarbij vrijwilligers van de Sandals Foundation zorgden voor het meenemen en uitdelen van cadeaus en snacks.
“Actieve betrokkenheid bij onze gemeenschap staat centraal in alles wat wij doen en vormt een van de kernpijlers van onze Foundation. Onze focus ligt op onderwijs, ondersteuning bieden aan ons gemeenschap en zorg voor ons milieu. Elk jaar zetten wij ons in om ervoor te zorgen dat kinderen het kerstseizoen kunnen ingaan met vreugde en een glimlach, en met cadeaus die hun feestdagen extra bijzonder maken,” aldus Jeffrey Speelman, General Manager van Sandals Royal Curaçao.
Al 13 jaar is de jaarlijkse Sandals Foundation cadeau-actie voor kinderen een gekoesterde traditie binnen gemeenschappen in het hele Caribisch gebied, waarbij herinneringen en vreugde worden gecreëerd die een leven lang meegaan. Dit feestseizoen werkte de Sandals Foundation met trots samen met drie toonaangevende spelers uit de Amerikaanse speelgoedindustrie, namelijk Spin Master, Jazwares en The Toy Foundation™, om 45.000 cadeaus te bezorgen aan kinderen op negen Caribische eilanden waar de resort zich bevindt, en zo vreugde en hoop te verspreiden in de hele regio.
“De feestdagen staan in het teken van hoop — een hoop die elk kind laat voelen dat het wordt gezien, gewaardeerd en oprecht geliefd.” aldus Heidi Clarke, Executive Director van de Sandals Foundation. “Wij zijn onze partners Spin Master, Jazwares en The Toy Foundation enorm dankbaar voor het brengen van vreugde aan 45.000 jonge levens in het Caribisch gebied.”
Omdat alle drie de speelgoedbedrijven voor het eerst actief waren in het Caribisch gebied, werden kinderen verrast met puzzels, Rubik’s Cubes, PAW Patrol-figuurtjes, knuffels en meer van Spin Master; bouwblokken en dinosaurusfiguren van The Toy Foundation; en Squishmallows-knuffels van Jazwares.
De feestvreugde werd compleet gemaakt door de vele medewerkers en gasten van Sandals Royal Curaçao die zich vrijwillig hebben ingezet om meer dan 1,000 cadeaus in te pakken en voor te bereiden, om zo kinderen blij te maken.
Holiday Cheer Comes Alive with over 1,390 Children Receiving Toys from the Sandals Foundation
Willemstad/ Curaçao – December 23, 2025 – Sandals Foundation Ambassadors from Sandals Royal Curaçao brought the magic of the season to a large number of children following the careful delivery of over 1,390 toys to various schools, afterschool-programs, children’s institutes and organizations within the communities, creating unforgettable experiences for the young ones. Volunteer and guests spend a week excitedly wrapping all the gifts for the children.
The initiative which took place between December 8th until December 19th included gift-wrapping days and thereafter events for children from the east to the west side of the island featuring games, snacks, ice-cream, cookies, songs and off course the gifts. The Sandals Foundation is extremely grateful for the support provided by transport company FBTT, which supported transportation throughout the Toy Drive week. On the first day, FBTT transported hundreds of children to the event on the eastern side of the island. During the remainder of the week, FBTT continued to assist with transportation to various locations, while Sandals Foundation volunteers distributed gifts and snacks.

Our focus spans education, community development, and caring for our environment, and each year we’re committed to ensuring that children can step into the Christmas season with joy and a smile, through gifts that brighten their holiday season”, General Manager for Sandals Royal Curaçao, Jeffrey Speelman, explains.
For 13 years, the Sandals Foundation’s annual toy distribution has been a cherished tradition for communities across the Caribbean, creating memories and joy to last a lifetime. This holiday season, the Sandals Foundation proudly partnered with three leading forces in the US toy industry, Spin Master, Jazwares, and The Toy Foundation™, to deliver 45,000 toys to children across nine Caribbean islands, spreading joy and hope throughout the region.
“The holidays are about hope, the kind that reminds every child that they are seen, valued, and deeply loved,” said Heidi Clarke, Executive Director of the Sandals Foundation. “We are incredibly grateful to our partners SpinMaster, Jazwares, and The Toy Foundation for spreading joy to 45,000 young lives across the Caribbean.”
With all three toy companies stepping into the Caribbean for the first time, children were delighted with puzzles, Rubik’s Cubes, PAW Patrol figurines, plushies and more from Spin Master; building blocks and dinosaur figurines from The Toy Foundation; and Squishmallows plush toys from Jazwares.
The holiday spirit was made complete by the many Sandals Royal Curaçao employees and guests who generously volunteered and gave their time, wrapping and preparing more than 1,000 gifts to bring joy to children.
