Parliament of Sint Maarten: The Interparliamentary Kingdom Consultations (IPKO) continued on Friday, February 20, and Saturday, February 21, 2026, in Oranjestad, Aruba. During the discussions, the delegations representing the Parliaments of Aruba, Curaçao, Sint Maarten, and the Netherlands discussed the future of aviation and air connectivity within the Caribbean parts of the Kingdom of the Netherlands

The Interparliamentary Kingdom Consultations (IPKO) continued on Friday, February 20, and Saturday, February 21, 2026, in Oranjestad, Aruba.
During the discussions, the delegations representing the Parliaments of Aruba, Curaçao, Sint Maarten, and the Netherlands discussed the future of aviation and air connectivity within the Caribbean parts of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. This included a presentation on Air Service Development: Aruba Gateway 2030 by representatives of the Aruban Airport Authority, followed by a visit to the Gateway 2030 construction site, the baggage handling system, and the new terminal.
Delegations also received presentations and discussed the topics of cybersecurity awareness and aging within the Kingdom, with a specific focus on Aruba. Additionally, a presentation was delivered by a representative of Caribbean Youth within the Kingdom/Dutch Caribbeans for Climate and Social Justice on climate adaptation and the recent verdict of the Bonaire Climate Case of January 2026.
On Saturday, February 21, the delegations of the parliaments of the countries discussed the draft Agreements List of IPKO February 2026 in Aruba and approved the Agreements List. The closing of the IPKO was followed by a press conference in which the Hon. President of Parliament, Mrs. Sarah A. Wescot-Williams, and the Hon. Chairlady of the Committee for Kingdom Affairs and Interparliamentary Relations, Ms. Sjamira D.M. Roseburg, participated and reflected on the consultation and the agreements made.

The delegation will participate in Tripartite Consultations scheduled to take place on Monday, February 23, 2026, between the delegations of the Parliaments of Aruba, Curaçao, and Sint Maarten.
