Eerste Curaçaose crew op vluchten tussen Amsterdam en Curaçao
WILLEMSTAD – Een primeur voor Corendon Dutch Airlines. 17 nieuwe collega’s uit Curaçao hebben als allereerste Curaçaose Service Attendants hun training succesvol afgerond en officieel hun Wing ontvangen; het speldje dat de cabin crew mag dragen. Daarmee zijn zij klaar om passagiers te verwelkomen op de route tussen Curaçao en Amsterdam.
De komst van deze nieuwe collega’s markeert een bijzonder moment binnen de operatie. Voor het eerst worden Service Attendants uit Curaçao ingezet op deze verbinding. Daarmee krijgt de route een nog herkenbaarder en persoonlijker gezicht.
Tijdens een intensief trainingsprogramma zijn de Service Attendants voorbereid op hun werkzaamheden aan boord. Naast de praktische voorbereiding stonden ook service, samenwerking en gastvrijheid centraal. Tegelijk ging het om iets dat lastiger te trainen is: hoe je de warmte van het eiland voelbaar maakt in de cabine, in contact met reizigers en in de kleine momenten tijdens de vlucht. Alles met als doel om passagiers een warme en vertrouwde Corendon-ervaring te bieden, vanaf het moment dat zij aan boord stappen.
Kelly Otte, Managing Director Corendon Dutch Airlines: “Dit is een stap waar we echt naar hebben uitgekeken. Curaçao leeft onder onze reizigers en heeft een heel eigen sfeer. Door collega’s van het eiland zelf aan boord te hebben, breng je die sfeer direct de cabine in.”
De training werd afgesloten met de uitreiking van de wings, gevolgd door de overhandiging van uniformen en materialen. Vanaf 11 mei maken de nieuwe Service Attendants deel uit van de crew op de vluchten tussen Amsterdam en Curaçao.

First Curaçao cabin crew on flights between Amsterdam and Curaçao
A milestone for Corendon Dutch Airlines. Seventeen new colleagues from Curaçao have successfully completed their training as the very first Curaçao Service Attendants and officially received their Wings; a badge worn by cabin crew. They are now ready to welcome passengers on the route between Curaçao and Amsterdam.
The arrival of these new colleagues marks a special moment within the operation. For the first time, Service Attendants from Curaçao will be deployed on this route, giving the connection an even more recognizable and personal touch.
During an intensive training program, the Service Attendants were prepared for their duties on board. In addition to practical preparation, service, teamwork, and hospitality were central elements of the training. At the same time, it was also about something that is more difficult to teach: how to bring the warmth of the island into the cabin, through contact with travelers and in the small moments during the flight. All with the goal of offering passengers a warm and familiar Corendon experience from the moment they step on board.

By having colleagues from the island itself on board, you immediately bring that atmosphere into the cabin.”
The training concluded with the presentation of the wings, followed by the handover of uniforms and equipment. From May 11 onwards, the new Service Attendants will officially be part of the crew on flights between Amsterdam and Curaçao.
