Members of Parliament met with the Minister of Public Housing, Spatial Planning, Environment and Infrastructure, Mr. Patrice Gumbs Jr., to discuss the Nature Policy Plan for Sint Maarten.

The Minister returned to Parliament to continue answering questions raised by Members of Parliament during the previous meeting held on February 9, 2026. Following his responses to clarification requests and additional questions from MPs, the meeting was closed.

An advice will be drafted and forwarded for further handling in a Public Meeting. Although policy documents are not typically subject to a parliamentary vote, the law requires the Nature Policy Plan to be approved by Parliament. As a result, the matter will be addressed in a Public Meeting, where Parliament will formally vote on it.
