Curaçao Tourism Reports Positive First-Half Results for 2026

WILLEMSTAD – July 13th, 2026 – The Curaçao Tourist Board reports that Curaçao’s tourism sector continued its positive performance in June 2026, contributing to the strongest first-half result ever recorded for the destination. Between January and June, Curaçao welcomed 437,086 stayover visitors, representing a 9% increase compared to the 399,967 arrivals recorded during the same period in 2025. This marks the first time Curaçao has welcomed more than 400,000 stayover visitors during the first six months of the year.

June performance

During June 2026, Curaçao recorded 62,867 stayover arrivals, representing a 9% increase compared to the 57,413 visitors welcomed in June 2025. These visitors generated 497,426 visitor nights, an increase of 12% over the same month last year. The average length of stay was 7.9 nights, a 3% growth compared to June 2025. In terms of accommodation preferences, 54% of stayover visitors chose resort hotels, while 46% stayed in alternative accommodations.

Top 3 source markets in June:

The Netherlands remained Curaçao’s largest source market during June, accounting for 20,029 stayover arrivals, an increase of 22% compared to June 2025. Dutch visitors stayed an average of 12.1 nights. Of these visitors, 44% selected resort hotels, while 56% chose alternative accommodations.

The United States ranked as Curaçao’s second-largest source market in June, with 16,070 stayover visitors, reflecting a 6% decrease compared to June 2025. The decline was largely linked to travel patterns during the FIFA World Cup period. Curaçao’s participation increased outbound travel by local residents, with part of the available airline seat capacity used by residents traveling to attend the tournament. This temporarily reduced inbound visitor volume from the U.S. market. U.S. visitors stayed an average of 5.9 nights. Of these visitors, 66% chose resort hotels, while 34% stayed in alternative accommodations.

Colombia continued its strong performance as Curaçao’s third-largest source market, recording 7,144 stayover arrivals, an increase of 24% compared to June 2025. Colombian visitors stayed an average of 5.3 nights. Resort hotels remained the preferred accommodation for 58% of Colombian visitors, while 42% selected alternative accommodations.

First six months performance

June’s strong results reinforced Curaçao’s first-half performance. From January to June 2026, the destination welcomed 437,086 stayover visitors, up 9% from 2025. The Netherlands remained the largest source market with 134,613 arrivals, or 31% of all visitors, followed by the United States with 116,952 arrivals (27%). Canada contributed 31,386 visitors (7%), while Colombia recorded 28,817 visitors, also representing 7% of total arrivals. Brazil and Argentina also contributed to Curaçao’s first-half tourism growth, with 20,488 arrivals (5%) and 19,062 arrivals (4%), respectively. Together, these results show sustained demand across key markets and a solid foundation for the rest of 2026.
