LAST LAP PARADE ON SABA CONCLUDES WITHOUT INCIDENT

Today, Sunday, the 2nd of August, the Last Lap Carnival Parade took place on Saba. The parade started as planned at 4:00 PM and ended at 7:25 PM near Carnival Village, where activities will continue leading up to the burning of King Momo at midnight.

Before the parade began, all drivers underwent a breathalyzer test, and all passed. During a second check around 6:30 PM, one driver tested positive for alcohol but remained below the legal limit. Officers reminded the driver that no further alcohol consumption was permitted while participating in the parade.

At approximately 6:45 PM, a scooter was confiscated. The individual was riding the scooter along the parade route without a license plate. During the control, it was revealed that the rider was a minor who was unable to produce a driver’s license or any other vehicle documentation. The scooter was taken to the police station.

Additionally, another rider received a police warning for creating unnecessary noise with his motorcycle. Officers also addresed warnings to several individuals along the street who were consuming in glass bottles. No further incidents were reported.
