Following the prolonged drought on Saba, this support has been temporarily expanded. The drought significantly reduced the availability of grass and other vegetation used for grazing and animal feed. Although rainfall has returned, this vegetation will take time to recover, and livestock owners may continue to depend more heavily on purchased feed during the recovery period.

To provide additional support during this recovery period, there are three reimbursement methods now available to livestock owners.

The temporary support applies to eligible purchases made from September 1, 2026, and will remain available through December 2026 or until the available funds have been depleted. 

This means that livestock owners who have already purchased hay or imported animal feed since September 1^st can submit their receipts for reimbursement, provided they meet the submission requirements below.

How to submit a request for all reimbursement types 

A new submission procedure is now in effect and applies to both the existing reimbursement program and the new temporary drought support.

Reimbursement forms must be completed in full and submitted together with the original receipt. Receipts may not be older than one month at the time the reimbursement request is submitted.

Forms and receipts can be submitted to the Policy and Project Bureau or to Randall Johnson at the Agriculture Department. Original receipts will be scanned and can then be returned to the applicant.

This procedure also replaces the previous process for the existing ABB and transportation reimbursement, which allowed scanned receipts to be submitted by email. Original receipts must now be presented when requesting reimbursement.

Livestock owners are encouraged to keep their original receipts and submit their requests within one month of purchase.
