Today, Sunday, 4 October 2026, Statia’s Junior Commissioner of Tourism, Reuel Schmidt, departed Statia for Georgetown, Guyana, where he will represent the island at the Regional Tourism Youth Congress, held as part of the Caribbean Tourism Organization’s State of the Tourism Industry Conference (SOTIC) 2026.
The Youth Congress brings together Junior Ministers and Junior Commissioners of Tourism from across the Caribbean to share their perspectives and ideas on the future of tourism in the region.
The Statia Government wishes Junior Commissioner Schmidt every success as he represents Statia on this important regional platform.
