POLICE PRESS RELEASE
Woman arrested by the ALPHA team on the airport.
On Saturday 14th of September 2019, approximately at 18:20 hours, a woman who arrived on the PJIA from Kingston Jamaica with initials SK (27) was arrested for the suspicion of money laundering. The suspect SK was arrested after a routine joint control carried out by the Alpha Team and Customs. The suspect had a large amount of money in her possession, which she didn’t declared upon her arrival at the Customs department. The money was confiscated, and the suspect transported over to the police station in Philipsburg where she was incarcerated pending further investigation.
Notorious burglar arrested
On Monday September 16th 2019 about 09.45, the police patrol arrested the notorious burglar A.R. on the Water front road. The suspect was taken into custody after burglarizing 2 businesses in the area of Cole-Bay. After being detained he was brought over to the police station in Philipsburg where he being held for questioning.
Death announcement of our college Mr.E.E.F WIEL
It is with great sadness, that the management and staff of Police Force of Sint Maarten announce the unexpected death of their beloved former colleague and friend, Inspector Eric E.F WIEL. Inspector E.E.F Wiel had served in the Police Force for about than 46 years. He has worked on the islands of St. Eustatius and St.Maarten before his retirement about 2 year ago. Inspector E.E.F Wiel was the team leader at the traffic department for many years . He has been a role model and mentor for many of the younger officers working under his command. He was very hard working, reliable and loyal to the police force. He will be surely be missed. Deepest sympathy goes out to his entire family and all friends, from the management Team and entire staff of the St.Maarten Police Force
