On February 23 two national tennis teams travelled to the Dominican Republic to participate in the Pre Qualifying Junior Davis Cup (JDC) (Boys U16) and the Junior Billie Jean King Cup (JBJKC) (Girls U16).

The Pre-Qualifying is for the North Central America & The Caribbean Region. The tournaments will take place
from February 25-March 2 where the following countries will participate: Aruba, Bahamas, Barbados,
Bermuda, Costa Rica, Cuba, Curaçao, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Jamaica,
Puerto Rico, Suriname, Trinidad & Tobago, US Virgin Island.
Curaçao will be represented by Brandon Bridgewater and Neevin Marcos with Jason Engelhardt as Team
Captain for the boys’ team. Zena Wagner and Isabel Woodford form the girls’ team and are captained by
Jhsoly van ‘t Kruys. This is Van ‘t Kruys debut as a national team coach. Van ‘t Kruys has also been a JDC
player in the past.
The matches will start on Sunday 25 where the boys will compete against El Salvador and the girls against Honduras.
Poule boys consists of: El Salvador, Panama, and Curaçao.
Poule girls consists of: Honduras, Cuba, and Curaçao.
