BONAIRE WELCOMED 18,778 STAYOVER VISITORS DURING APRIL 2026
Tourism Corporation Bonaire (TCB) has shared preliminary tourism data for April 2026, revealing that Bonaire received 18,778 stayover visitors. This represents a slight decrease of 0.4% compared to April 2025, when 18,858 visitors arrived.

Visitors from the Netherlands formed the largest group, accounting for 43.5% of total arrivals, with 8,176 visitors. US visitors were the second-largest group, accounting for 22% of arrivals and 4,140 visitors.

A total of 3,381 (18%) visitors from Curaçao visited the island, followed by Belgium with 527 (2.8%) visitors, Aruba with 507 (2.7%) visitors, Canada with 388 (2.1%) visitors, Germany with 274 (1.5%) visitors, Switzerland with 219 (1.2%) visitors, Colombia with 136 (0.7%) visitors, Brazil with 134 (0.7%) visitors, and UK with 128 (0.7%) visitors.

US visitors mainly traveled with a partner, followed by alone. Most came for vacation (51.5%), diving (37.1%), and visiting friends and family (2.4%). The majority stayed at a hotel (52.7%), a villa (14.3%), an apartment (7.9%), their own property (6.2%), or with a relative (4.3%). US visitors primarily came from California, Florida, New York, North Carolina, and New Jersey. The age distribution showed that travelers aged 55-64 accounted for 22.2%, while those aged 45-54 accounted for 19.5%.

Dutch visitors were mainly solo travelers, followed by those traveling with a partner. Most visitors came for vacation (72.3%), visited friends and family (10.6%), and for business (5.4%). Most visitors stayed at a hotel (49.8%), followed by an apartment (13.3%), at a relative’s (11.3%), a villa (8.2%), and their own property (4.5%). Most Dutch visitors came from South Holland, North Holland, North Brabant, Gelderland, and Utrecht, with the 45-54 age group (18.5%) and the 55-64 age group (17%) being the largest segments.

BONAIRE TOURISM STRENGTHENS POSITIONING AT SEATRADE 2026

Tourism Corporation Bonaire (TCB), together with the Public Entity of Bonaire, participated in Seatrade Cruise Global 2026 in Miami, as part of the ABC Islands delegation.

Led by CEO Elesiër Angel and Harbor Master Günther Flanegin, the team met with cruise industry leaders to strengthen partnerships and align future cruise visits with Bonaire’s focus on sustainability and quality tourism.

The discussions highlighted Bonaire’s positioning as a high-value, low-impact destination within a growing global cruise market.

A strong step in reinforcing the island’s long-term cruise strategy.

TCB CELEBRATED THE CULTURAL MONTH IN APRIL

TCB’s Cultural Month in April was a beautiful celebration of the island’s heritage under the theme “On the Road to Dia di Rincon.”

Throughout the month, Bonaire welcomed visitors with warm cultural greetings at the airport, while Saturdays came alive with vibrant Krioyo music and traditional dance performances in folkloric dress.

The festivities led up to the beloved Dia di Rincon, bringing the community together in a powerful expression of identity, music, and tradition.

It was a month that beautifully showcased Bonaire’s culture, leaving both locals and visitors with meaningful memories of the island’s spirit and hospitality.
