May 25, 2026, the Parliament of Sint Maarten convened Public Meeting no. 19 with the Prime Minister and Minister of General Affairs, Dr. Luc F.E. Mercelina, to address recent allegations of integrity breaches related to his involvement in matters concerning the Ministry of Public Health, Social Development, and Labor (VSA).

The meeting commenced with one of the requestors of the meeting, MP O.E.C. Ottley, explaining the reason for requesting the meeting, which was followed by an introductory presentation by the Prime Minister. The Members of Parliament were then given the opportunity to pose questions, and they posed questions related to healthcare projects, government procedures, and claims of political interference.

The Public meeting was later adjourned until further notice with the Prime Minister expected to return to Parliament to continue deliberations and answer questions posed by Members of Parliament in the first round.
