Update missing young men
Philipsburg: As the investigation of the two (2) missing young men, E. ROSARIO (23 years old) and L. DIAZ SARANTE (23 years old) , continues, the home of one of the men has been searched. The men had been both reported missing since Monday, December 5 2016.
The detective Department remains diligent in search for these two young men and all possible leads are being looked into. The community is asked to lend assistance that may lead to finding them. Anyone with relevant information is asked to call the Police Station 542-2222 ext 208 or 211.

Three women robbed
Philipsburg: On December 10 2016, at approximately 00.35 am (twelve thirty) three female were robbed of their belongings as they walked along the Juancho Yrasquin Boulevard. The three ladies were on their way back to their boot that was anchored at the Point Blanche Pier when they were suddenly attacked by an armed man dressed in dark clothing. Their purses were taken during the attack. One of the women was struck on the head, but luckily she did not suffer any injuries that needed medical attention. Their wallets were later found in the surrounding area. Detectives are busy with the further investigation.
Jewel Store robbery
Philipsburg: On Saturday December 10 2016, at approximately 12.25 pm a Jewel Store on located on the Frontstreet in Philipsburg was robbed. An armed man ran into the establishment and grabbed several chains from behind the display case and fled the scene as quickly as he had entered it. No one was hurt during this robbery. Police and detective patrols quickly searched the surrounding area to no avail. Members of the forensic team were also called in to conduct their investigation.
Philipsburg: On Sunday December 11 2016, during the evening hours the police patrol was dispatched to Conch Shell supermarket on the A Th Illidge road where an armed man dressed in a hooded sweater robbed the supermarket of an undisclosed amount of cash. Anyone with information pertaining to this robbery can contact the detective department.
Body found floating in Simpson bay Lagoon
Philipsburg: On Sunday December 11 2016, a patrol was dispatch to the Pink Iguana Restaurant on the Airport Boulevard where a body was discovered floating in the Lagoon. With the assistance of the coastguard the lifeless body of an adult male was pulled out of the Lagoon. His body was discovered at approximately 09.30 am (nine thirty).
After being examined by the forensic doctor it was decided to confiscate the body for further investigation. There was no indication that foul play was involved in his death. The search of his clothing revealed a British driver’s license and passport registered under the name of Russell Frank HODGSON. He was born on November 30, 1945. The body was transported shortly afterwards to the Royal Funeral Home. Witnesses were questioned and contact was quickly made with members of his family who are expected to arrive on the island so that the body can officially be released.
Man injured after being struck
Philipsburg: On Sunday December 11 2016, a white Hyundai Getz traveling on the L.B. Scott road coming out of the direction of St. Peters, struck the rear end of a garbage truck while it stood still. A garbage collector who was situated at the back of the truck was seriously injured as a result of the impact. Medical personnel transported him to the hospital where it was determined that he had suffered a broken leg. The investigation on the scene was conducted by members of the traffic department.
