Sint Maarten Police 4 men arrested for stealing

4 men arrested for stealing

 

On Friday May 24th, 4 Colombian men were arrested by Detectives for stealing a considerable amount of cash from Jade Dollar Store located on Bush road in Cul-de-Sac. On of the suspects in question found his way unnoticed into the main office of the establishment and stole a bag containing the large sum of cash.  After committing this act the four men left the scene in a small rental car. After management realized what had taken place they immediately informed the Police department. A description of the suspects and was also given to the Police Department.

A search to locate the vehicle and the suspects immediately started. Later during the day the vehicle and the suspects in question were stopped by the investigating officers in the area of the Princess Juliana International Airport. During a search of the vehicle the bag containing the stolen cash was located. All the money that was stolen was accounted for. All four suspects were arrested on the spot and taken to the Philipsburg Police Head Quarters for questioning and further investigation.

 

Missing teenager found

 

The missing 15 year old girl by the name of Angelique Richardson who was reported missing on Sunday May 26th by Jennely Luidens was found safe and in good health on Monday morning May 27th . She was brought to the Police Head Quarters in Philipsburg for the Youth and Morals Department to conduct their investigation. The Police Department is taking this opportunity to thank the community who assisted in sharing this information on Social Media.

Shots fired in Sint Peters

 

Detectives are presently investigating a hooting incident involving two or more Venezuelan men and a scooter rider. This incident took place on Sunday May 26th on Sint Peters road. According to reports these men and the scooter rider my have been involved in an altercation a short time back. Today when they saw the scooter rider they started throwing empty bottles at him. The scooter rider ran into a yard while being chased by these men. At one point according to witnesses they heard at least two shots fired causing persons in the area to take cover and the Venezuelans to flee the area. The police patrols arriving on the scene immediately cordoned off the area for the Forensic Department to collect evidence. It is still unclear what the cause of the incident is but detectives continue to investigate what exactly took place and why.

Woman ill-treats man with bottle

A woman remains in custody for questioning and further investigation after been arrested by police late Sunday night for the ill-treatment of the man she has a relationship with. The incident took place on the Well road in Cole Bay during a dispute between parties at which time the female used a broken bottle to cut and stab the victim several times. The victim was taken to hospital where he remains for observation and further treatment.

Alpha Team arrests two

On Friday the 24th of May 2019, approximately at 12:00 hours two Albanian nationals were arrested by the Alpha Team for using false Greek passports. Their valid Albanian passports were later discovered in their luggage. They were identified as P.O. (39) and B.E. ( 36)  

The two Albanian arrived on the island on the French side and attempted to leave Sint Maarten through the Dutch side. At departure during passport control the immigration officers identified the false passports and alerted the Alpha Team who then made the arrests.
