Stabbing Incident on Bush Road – Suspect Arrested
Sint Maarten – On Friday, October 17, 2025, at approximately 08:20, the Central Police Dispatch of the Police Force of Sint Maarten (KPSM) received multiple calls reporting a male victim suffering from stab wounds near a supermarket on Bush Road.
Police officers and ambulance personnel were immediately dispatched to the scene, where they encountered the victim. First aid was administered on-site, and the victim was transported to the St. Maarten Medical Center (SMMC) in serious condition.
Shortly thereafter, officers received information indicating the suspect was in the area of the Critic-Field. A patrol unit located and arrested the suspect, who was subsequently brought to the police station and is currently being held for questioning.
Both the victim and the suspect are known to authorities and may be dealing with mental health issues and other social challenges. KPSM calls on relevant social partners to collaborate in addressing these underlying social problems to prevent future incidents.

Traffic Accident on A.J.C. Brouwers Road – Multiple Injuries Reported
Sint Maarten – On Thursday, October 16, 2025, at approximately 20:00, the Central Police Dispatch of the Police Force of Sint Maarten (KPSM) received multiple calls regarding a traffic accident on A.J.C. Brouwers Road, about 100 meters past the Churchill Roundabout. Reports indicated a pedestrian had been struck by a scooter near the first bus stop on Brouwers Road.
Police officers and ambulance personnel arrived on the scene and encountered a male pedestrian suffering from serious injuries. Officers also found another victim, who was later identified as the passenger on the scooter. The scooter rider attempted to flee the scene but was stopped by an officer near the insurance company. He sustained injuries to his face and, together with the scooter passenger, was transported to the St. Maarten Medical Center (SMMC) for medical treatment.
The Traffic Department is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding this incident. KPSM emphasizes its ongoing efforts to address scooter riders’ behavior on the roads to ensure the safety of all road users.
