On April 3rd, CHATA marks 59 years of representing and strengthening Curaçao’s hospitality and tourism sector.

This year, our anniversary coincides with Good Friday, a moment that invites reflection, responsibility, and perspective. It is a fitting reminder that growth is not only about numbers, but about choices, direction, and long-term impact.

For nearly six decades, CHATA has played a central role in shaping the sector. From a small network to a community of over 200 partners across hotels, restaurants, activities, and services, working collectively to build a resilient, high-quality destination.

Today, Curaçao is not just growing, it is performing. Higher occupancy, stronger rates, and increasing global recognition confirm that we are moving in the right direction. At the same time, this growth brings responsibility.

The next phase is not about growing faster, but about growing better.

Maintaining the strength of our tourism sector while ensuring it remains balanced with the needs of our community is essential. Alignment with all stakeholders is more important than ever to build a future-proof tourism sector.

We are at a crossroads where the decisions we make today will define the future of Curaçao.
