Members of Parliament sat in Central Committee meeting no. 21 to discuss a report from the Committee of Parlatino Matters regarding advice on First Vice Chairmanship of a Parlatino Committee, and approve upcoming work travels to participate in the 22nd ParlAmericas Plenary Assembly and the 10th Gathering of the Open Parliament Network, in Ottawa, Canada, and the IPKO and Tripartite meetings in The Hague, the Netherlands.

Parliament of Sint Maarten

On Wednesday, April 22, 2026, Members of Parliament sat in Central Committee meeting no. 21 to discuss a report from the Committee of Parlatino Matters regarding advice on First Vice Chairmanship of a Parlatino Committee, and approve upcoming work travels to participate in the 22nd ParlAmericas Plenary Assembly and the 10th Gathering of the Open Parliament Network, in Ottawa, Canada, and the IPKO and Tripartite meetings in The Hague, the Netherlands. Both travels were approved.
During this same meeting the Central Committee of Parliament held a debriefing on the recently attended ParlAmericas workshop held in St. George’s, Grenada, regarding paid and unpaid care work, and discussed a proposal for a Kingdom Law amending the Netherlands-Sint Maarten Tax Arrangement.
The Central Committee will advise the Public meeting concerning the First Vice Chairmanship of the Committee on Economic Affairs, Social Debt and Regional Development of Parlatino, and a report regarding the views of the Parliament of Sint Maarten on the Kingdom Law will be sent to the Second Chamber of the Netherlands for further handling.
