On Wednesday, May 27, 2026, Parliament reconvened for the continuation of Central Committee meeting no. 17 handling draft National Ordinances on financial oversight, during which the Minister of Finance, Ms. Marinka J. Gumbs, returned to Parliament to answer questions on the draft National Ordinance on the Supervision of Securities Intermediaries and Asset Managers (Parliamentary Year 2023–2024–171) and the draft National Ordinance on the Supervision of Payment Service Providers (Parliamentary Year 2025–2026–187). The Final Reports on both drafts under agenda points 3 and 4 will now be sent to the Government for further handling.
Additional, a proposal was approved for questions and comments related to agenda points 5, 6, and 7 to be submitted in writing by the Factions on or before June 11, 2026. These agenda points concern the following draft National Ordinances:
• National Ordinance on the Supervision of Virtual Asset Service Providers (Parliamentary Year 2025–2026–188)
• National Ordinance on Oversight of Systems in the Payment or Securities Settlement System (Parliamentary Year 2025–2026–189)
• National Ordinance on the Supervision of Operators of FMI Systems (Parliamentary Year 2025–2026–190)
Following receipt of the written questions and compilation of the draft Final Reports, a Central Committee meeting will be convened to establish and ratify the Final Reports on these draft National Ordinances. Thereafter, the Final Reports will be submitted to the Government for futher handling.
The Central Committee meeting was then closed.
