Curaçao at ‘Vakantiebeurs’ 2017

WILLEMSTAD- January 25, 2017 – This year marks the 100th anniversary of the ‘Vakantiebeurs’ and Curaçao was there! The annual fair that is dedicated to the new developments and opportunities in the traveling world attracted more than 108 thousand visitors. The ‘Vakantiebeurs’ 2017 took place from January 10th till January 15th in Utrecht, Netherlands.

This fair, considered as the largest and most significant travel platform in Holland, was a great opportunity to again promote Curaçao as the ideal vacation destination among European travelers. The Curaçao booth was very popular and well visited during the fair. CTB was accompanied by various partners of the private sector including Lions Dive & Beach Resort Curaçao, Avila Beach Hotel, Livingstone Jan Thiel Resort, Papagayo Beach Resort, Morena Resort, Boutique Hotel ’t Klooster, Acoya Hotel Suites & Villas, Santa Barbara Beach & Golf Resort, Scuba Lodge & Suites, Dolphin Suites Curaçao, Dolphin Academy Curaçao, Van der Valk Kontiki Beach Resort, Sunscape Curaçao Resort, Spa & Casino, Coral Estate, Hilton Curaçao and Lagun Blou Resort.

Each year, during this fair CTB organizes a gathering and hosts all media and executive partners at the Curaçao booth. The gathering took place on the first day of the fair. Mr. Edward Suares (CTB) took the opportunity to introduce his successor, Mrs. Mies Meredith- Hofman, as she was appointed earlier this year to be the new Marketing Manager for the European market.

Together with industry partners, they raffled a trip for 2 to Curaçao. Visitors had to check-in at the booth, fill in their contact information and answer 5 simple multiple choice questions about ‘what would they be doing if they were in Curaçao’. To enhance the #RightNowInCuracao campaign, every 4 hours, a visitor could win a VIP-tasting, which granted them the opportunity to taste some local creole dishes, such as Chicken Soup, Beef Stew sandwich, Fried ‘funchi’ with Corned Beef and to topped it of a delicious coconut dessert. The dishes were prepared on the spot by Chefs Justin Niessen and Giovanni Rosario. At the end of the day, everyone came back to see if they were the lucky winner of a roundtrip ticket for 2. CTB looks back at a successful participation at the ‘Vakantiebeurs’ 2017.
