Urgent Public meeting no. 7 of Parliament regarding deliberations to address the escalating situation involving the nation’s fire and ambulance personnel, reconvened on Thursday, January 29, 2026, with Deputy Prime Minister, Mrs. Grisha S. Heyliger-Marten and the Minister of Public Health, Social Development and Labor, Mr. Richinel S.J. Brug. The Ministers provided the answers to the questions posed by Members of Parliament in the first round.
During the second round of the deliberations, in addition to several questions posed, the Hon. MP Mr. Francisco A. Lacroes presented a draft Motion of Disapproval on the Prime Minister. At the moment the Hon. President of Parliament, Mrs. S.A. Wescot-Williams, was indicating that the meeting would be adjourned until Monday in order to allow the Prime Minister to be present to answer the questions and respond to the draft motion, a roll call was requested. The roll call established that there were insufficient Members present for the meeting to continue. The meeting was therefore adjourned due to a lack of quorum.
